Inverse Frequencies

A complementary study of contrast, inversion, and abstract color

Project description

The images in Inverse Frequencies extend the visual language established in Soft Frequencies by exploring contrast as a fundamental design principle. Through inverted palettes, heightened tonal relationships, and bold geometric transitions, the series transforms familiar compositions into new visual experiences. Rather than functioning as opposites, these images reveal how subtle shifts in color and value can redefine perception.

While the original collection emphasizes softness and atmospheric continuity, this series introduces greater visual tension through darker fields, brighter accents, and more pronounced separations between forms. The textured grain remains a defining characteristic, preserving a tactile quality that unifies the compositions while allowing each palette to establish its own distinct presence and emotional resonance.

Inverse Frequencies demonstrates the flexibility of an abstract visual system, showing how a shared structure can generate entirely different atmospheres through color alone. The project highlights the expressive potential of inversion, creating compositions that feel familiar yet transformed, expanding the visual identity into a complementary and equally cohesive direction.
